University of Alaska is a land, sea, and space grant institution. It was founded in 1917. There are more than 10,000 students enrolled at the University. It participates in the sun-grant program through Oregon University. It was established as the Alaska Agricultural College and School of Mines. It started to hold classes in 1922. It is home to the seven most important research units. Besides the Fairbanks campus, there are seven other campuses in Dillingham, Kotzebue, Bethel, and Nome. The university’s origins lie in the creation of a federal agricultural experiment station in 1906. Students from all across the world come to study at Alaska, which takes pride in their uniqueness.

Admission Procedures:
Students should apply at UAF well in advance. The application form along with all the supporting documents should reach 6 months in advance. One can apply through the online forms and send the completed form along with a $60 application fee. GRE exam records along with ACT/SAT/TOEFL scores and high school records are to be sent along with the form. Two letters of recommendation are to be sent too along with the form.
Accommodation facilities
The housing at UAF ensures that you will have a comfortable and secure environment to live in. The community will provide opportunities for the student’s growth, and academic success. There are apartment style options and single room options to choose from. Consumption of alcohol is not allowed in any of the housing units. All Students are entitled to an accommodation but until it is confirmed by the Department of Residence Life, one cannot be sure. Applicants should send $350 to the Residence life Department.
